The “DONT’s” & “DO’s” of Getting a Mortgage

When in the process of buying a home or refinancing a loan, there are some important things to remember:

  • Do not make any career changes (i.e., change jobs, quit job or become self-employed)

  • Do not spend any money you have set aside for closing or buy anything substantial (i.e., a new car, jewelry, furniture, etc.)

  • Do not use credit cards excessively or let current accounts fall behind

  • Do not omit debts or liabilities from your loan application

  • Do not originate any new inquiries into your credit (i.e., apply for a new credit card, refinance current auto loan, etc.)

  • Do not give or receive substantial transfers to or from your bank account(s) without checking with Team Get It Done first

  • Do not change bank accounts

  • Do not cosign a loan for anyone

  • Do visit for additional resources to guide you through the remainder of your loan process

  • Do call Jimmy or Nina with any questions you have along the way

  • Do relax…you’re almost there!
